The Snow Report

The Snow Report

Good Morning, Skiers and Snowboarders, this is Joe Turner with your Big Sky Snow Report for Sunday, March 3, 2024.

What a glorious Sunday it is going to be. Yesterday was an incredible storm skiing day with fresh pow lap after fresh pow lap perfected by the wind and intense snow offering free refills on favorite lines. Through the night the wind has groomed some areas and a little more snow fell bringing our 24 hour snowfall to over 6" - 8" of cold-smoke powder to the mountain and now the Sun is going to break free and shine on all the fresh lines waiting for your planks. The Groomers have raked the on-piste trails to perfection and the snow has been laying down an immaculate canvas on all other aspects creating this winter wonderland. Faceshots in the sun for all today and go paint your mark on the mountain.

Today we should see mostly sunny skies with some clouds and possibility for some precipitation this afternoon. The temps will be cool with a high temp of 12°F and a low temp of 4°F. Winds will flow from the West at speeds of 14 - 17 mph accompanied by gusts up to 21 mph, but remember to keep watch of exposed skin because the wind-chill values will be as low as -10°F. I have seen a lot of white nose tips in the last few days so help a friend and let them know so they can get covered up. Currently our mid-mountain base depth is at 52" of solid base material.

Yesterday was so much fun living in the white room all day and adventure skiing when it is snowing so hard that you cant see but the pow is abundant and addicting that I couldnt stop until the final bell rang. I expect today to be more of the same but with sun and visibility. Yesterday's snow was hero snow for the self and today will be on full display with bluebird skies and fresh pow for the world to view. So get up to Big Sky and come ski like a TGR Athlete enjoying every feature and contour of our incredible mountain. Be safe, have fun and we look forward to seeing you out in the pow.

**Please, remember that unmarked obstacles and hazards exist and are prevalent so ski and ride safe. Always ski/ride with a partner and keep your partner in sight at all times.
