Guided Hikes
Big Sky is home to amazing hikes, and you are in luck if you hope to explore paths featuring wildflowers, roaring streams, distant snowclad peaks, and clean, crisp mountain air. Tie on your hiking boots and explore the miles and miles of trails in Gallatin National Forest or close neighbor Yellowstone National Park. From the Resort's Mountain Village, you can enjoy a scenic lift ride up the mountain and then choose one of several self-guided nature trails, or explore the area with a guide on one of our guided hikes.
Our Basecamp Guides carry Bear Spray and are educated in Wildlife Awareness to provide peace of mind while you explore the great outdoors.
We offer private 2-hour guided hikes for groups up to 8 people. You and your hiking guide will determine the best route around our for your interests and ability level.
Guided Scenic Lift Experience
Customized for your group, this one-hour guided experience will take you around the mountain via chairlift to learn about Big Sky Resort and the natural beauty that surrounds us. Take a ride up Explorer and learn about local flora and fauna, or take in the sweeping views of Lone Mountain and Spanish Peaks from the top of Swift Current 6 or Ramcharger 8.

Trail Etiquette
This is a multi-use trail system (motorized vehicles and horses not allowed). Bikers must yield to hikers. Pets must be under control at all times. Please clean up after your pet. Smoking is prohibited.
Leave No Trace
Be sensitive to your surroundings. Wet trails are vulnerable to erosion and damage. Stay on existing trails, respect signage, and please pack out your trash.
Plan Ahead
Know your equipment, your ability, and the area in which you are traveling. Be prepared and carry the necessary gear for changes in weather and other conditions.
Be Bear Aware
Are you prepared to encounter one? Be alert, make noise, carry bear spray, avoid hiking alone, and do not run. For more information and tips, read about Bear Safety on the National Park Service website.
During the summer season, access to the Big Sky Resort for recreational purposes is free of charge. A lift ticket is required to ride the chair lifts, but lift tickets do NOT create access to Big Sky Resort.
